Prince Harry

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, born on 15th September 1984 is a member of the British royal family. He is the younger son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana who is sixth in the line of succession to the British throne. He married Meghan Markle in 2018. Although he is known as Harry, his full name is Henry Charles Albert David of Wales, so he is officially Prince Henry of Wales. He has been given a nickname of Spike Wells by his friends and his Scotland Yard protection officers.

When he was just 18 months old, he went on his first foreign trip to Italy in May 1985. In 1997, he went to South Africa where he saw the spice girls perform and he also met Nelson Mandela. Duke of Sussex attended Mrs. Mynors School, then Wetherby School in London before joining his brother, Prince William, in Ludgrove School in Berkshire before going to Eton College where he left with a D in Geography and B in Art. He excelled in sports, particularly rugby union and polo. After leaving school, he used his gap year effectively by working in different charities. In 2006, he set up his own charity called Sentebale with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in Africa. The charity supports the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

He started his military career by attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. His military name is Captain Harry Wales. He undertook two operational tours of Afghanistan during his time in the military. He was the first one to be in combat in his family since his uncle, Prince Andrews, flew helicopters in The Falklands War in 1982.

He supports the football team Arsenal and can often be seen at their matches. He still plays polo and he enjoys playing in charity matches with his brother. Although Prince William used to boss around him in childhood still their bond is shipped by people. They had a pet rabbit as a child lived in a hutch at the corner of the stable yard that they took care of themselves. Prince Harry had a great compassion for animals. He spent hours filling the estate’s sheep buckets with water and giving them hay.

When he turned legal, his grandma, Queen Elizabeth II, gave him his own Coat of Arms. He was actively involved in designing the crest which incorporates an emblem from his mother’s family arms.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle have stepped away from their duties as official senior members of the Royal Family.  They have moved to Canada.
